Pneumatic extrusion piston pumps are used to transfer, dose and apply medium viscous fluids from 15,000 cP to high viscous fluids over 1,000,000 cPand at delivery rates upto 24 lpm. These pumps have a chop-check valve with primer disc that acts like a shovel and facilitates the entry of viscous fluid into the pump. These pumps are usually fixed to follower plates mounted on pneumatic rams / inductors, which press the fluid facilitating the pump priming. In addition, the follower plate also serves as protection against possible material contamination and eliminates material waste. Other components in the extrusion systems include automatic and manual dispensing guns, fluid pressure regulators and fluid heaters.
